Mountain Elopement Packages

November 27, 2017

Michelle and BJ booked one of my mountain elopement packages and planned a simple ceremony at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir in Banff, together with Signature Weddings by Ashley.  It was my distinct pleasure to spend the afternoon with them on such an important day.  Michelle was kind enough to share a few thoughts on the day…

There’s so much to rave about from our day so it’s hard to pick our favourite part.  We really treasured the fact that we got to spend it with the people who have supported us from the very beginning of our relationship, our families.  Our tip for future couples planning a wedding is to elope! Haha no, but we have a lot of married friends and we found we dodged a lot of the stressful parts of planning a big wedding.

Mountain Elopement Packages  – The First Look

We decided to elope on our 9 year anniversary in Banff, Alberta with only our immediate family at the ceremony.  Our wedding day was so relaxed, it couldn’t have been more perfect.  We enjoyed the nice weather on our suite patio until hair and makeup arrived at 1:30 pm to begin getting ready for our pictures and afterwards, head to the ceremony. I got ready downstairs and BJ waited upstairs in our suite at Hidden Ridge Resort until I was finished.

I rode along with our photographer Tara to Bow Falls while BJ followed us in a separate vehicle. As Tara stationed BJ at a place along the trail for our first look pictures, a British couple walking by stopped and talked to BJ.  I was laughing watching them because he hates having all the attention on him and knowing him, he probably wanted them to just move along (haha). Once finished their conversation, they walked towards my way and told me, “I just told him you’re in for a treat, she looks absolutely beautiful”.  They told me they’ve been together for 40 years and wished us a happy marriage together.

Finally, I hope you’ll pop back around New Years when I’ll be posting valuable bits of advice from some of my recent brides, including Michelle.  If you’re planning a wedding, you won’t want to miss it.
