I believe it was C.S. Lewis who said “there are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” 2020 has certainly rolled in on a big wave a change hasn’t it? What are some of the new things that you’re seeing? How about zoom and curbside pick-up? One new term I’m hearing more and more is the micro wedding. Have you heard this too?
What is a micro wedding?
Brides defines a micro wedding as “an intimate affair, typically with no more than 50 guests. They still feature time-honored traditions that make a wedding but on a much smaller scale”.
While you may have to make adjustments, you can still inject your own style, personality and charm. If I may, I’d like to add a few tips on planning a Calgary micro wedding.
Turn to the professionals
Celebrate your dream day in a way that’s relaxed and more non-traditional. Turn to a wedding planner to assist with the logistics of your day. For example, good planners keep abreast on current closures, social distancing requirements and guidelines for group gatherings. They can also recommend venues that have availability and are accommodating micro weddings in Calgary and the Rockies.

Don’t sacrifice the beauty
In addition to managing the logistics, many planners offer event design and styling services. Every element of your day can be carefully curated acccording to your unique vision. Taking a more minimalistic approach leaves you with funds left over for sentimental details. Consider romantic, seasonal florals or one-of-a-kind stationery.

Make lovely memories
It’s my pleasure to provide a way for couples to relive their day. My goal is to help you remember it, just as it was. If the micro wedding appeals to you, consider my original elopement package. This has been a popular pick for couples flying in for destination weddings. This package includes 3 hours of photography. Reach out if you have any questions because I’m happy to help.
