Maybe you’re planning a mountain wedding and wondering about good spots for Canmore wedding photos? There’s no shortage of mountain vistas in Canmore to be sure, but you’ll often find couples having their photos taken at the Engine Bridge, Riverside Park or Quarry Lake. Don’t get me wrong, these are all breathtaking spots and I myself photographed there just this weekend. I’m always on the hunt for unique locations so for this bridal shoot with Kiera, we headed for Goat Creek Trail, a short drive up Smith Dorrien Trail from Quarry Lake. Rocky Peaks, fragrant forest and a babbling brook made for an idyllic backdrop for Kiera in her Marina Semone gown. If you’ve got the time on your wedding day, it’s a beautiful area for Canmore wedding photos. I’m picturing an elopement here or an engagement session too.
After we finished up at Goat Creek Trail, we headed further down Smith Dorrien Trail, looking for pretty reflections along the Spray Lakes Canals. We waited a bit for the perfect light on Mount Rundle and we were not disappointed. I’m such a sucker for that “melty” evening light.
If you’re still wondering where to take Canmore wedding photos, check out this inspiration shoot at Silvertip Resort.
Thanks to all the vendors who made the images we took that evening so dramatic.
