I must admit, I’m not a morning person.  Typically I prefer to ease into the morning with a latte in hand.  That said, there’s one scenario where I spring out of bed and that’s for Moraine Lake wedding photos.  For a few reasons, sunrise is the ideal time for photos at this pristine mountain lake.  First of all, it’s magical to watch the golden light spread over the Valley of the Ten Peaks.  Secondly, I really like the symbolism of beginning a new life together at the dawn of a new day.  It’s rather poetic wouldn’t you say? Finally, thanks to Instagram, Moraine Lake is VERY popular with tourists.  Arrive early to avoid the crowds.  Check this website for sunrise and sunset times at Moraine Lake/Lake Louise, located in Banff National Park.

Recently I met up with Logan and Lauren at the crack of dawn for a portrait session.  They tied the knot at an intimate ceremony earlier this summer and jumped at the chance for wedding photographs in the Rockies.
