Since I seem to be on a bit of a  “favourites” kick lately, I’m taking the opportunity to post my favourite wedding ring pictures.  Over the years, I’ve photographed some pretty spectacular gems.  According to The Knot, diamond wedding rings originated with the Archduke Maximilian of Austria in  1477, when he presented a ring to his beloved, Mary of Burgundy. The tradition of wearing the rings on the fourth finger of the left hand can be traced to the Egyptians, who believed the thevena amoris (vein of love) ran directly from the heart to the top of this finger.  Although this is actually a myth, the tradition has continued.

As striking as Randy’s ring is, it’s the inscription that I like best.  He and Gabrielle were married at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

Little piece of trivia….Tyler’s ring is engraved with the geographic coordinates of the location of his nuptials to Katherine.  They were married at Heritage Park in Calgary.

Gabrielle’s ring played second fiddle to the Boss 302 at her engagement session with Randy.
