Tell us about a Royale Calgary wedding
Royale is a vibrant and playful space, the perfect backdrop for your big day. We believe shared moments are best paired with great food and delicious sips prepared with only you in mind. We offer a fresh take on simple, timeless dishes by using only the finest ingredients.
Our ideal couple are people who are foodie-forward but laid back, who love to go out and try something new but are not afraid to push the boundaries.
What are some features that make it a unique?
As soon as you walk into Royale you will be blown away by their atrium. Beautiful skylights with romantic Edison bulbs hang across and baskets of plants bring an eclectic vibe to the space. Royale boasts the largest (and most beautiful) patio on 17th Avenue. It’s a hidden gem and that’s what I think makes it unique. People are still finding it out about it even though it’s so amazing. And we can’t forget their tiger wall on the patio!
Any favourite wedding moments?
Ah one wedding we had last summer was really emotional – or rather the daughter of the bride was really emotional. She had everyone crying! It was really sweet to see how happy she was for her mom.
Tell us about the menu options that are available to wedding couples?
I think our most popular wedding menu is the family-style menu which includes 2 starters, 2 entrees, 2 sides and 2 desserts. It’s a fun atmosphere as everyone is sharing the dishes, passing them back and forth, engaging in conversation. And it doesn’t mean you just get to have one thing, but rather try it all. We do a lot of cocktail-style weddings at Royale too because it’s such a fun space to move around in. There’s lots of seating already built in, an expansive bar and huge patio to move in and out of.
Any “must-try” items on the menu?
How do you choose? The Charred Octopus with duck fat potatoes, crème fraîche, and andouille sausage is a can’t miss. Also be sure to dive into the Poutine with tender duck confit, cheese curds and pan gravy. Add the Poplar Bluff Carrot Borani and the daily Butcher’s Cut and Market Fish to your order while you’re at it.
If you’re coming for brunch, you can’t go wrong with any of the benedicts. We strongly suggest a plate of the buckwheat pancakes too. And would it even be brunch without avocado toast?
They also have half price all bottles of wine Sunday-Wednesday. Who can say no to that?
