My name is Tara Whittaker and I’m a Pinterest addict. Has anyone else found Pinterest to be a spellbinding getaway from our current reality? I’ve been searching for everything from inspiration for my shady backyard to fresh summer salads to fall wedding ideas in 2020. What wedding trends have you been seeing and loving? I teamed up with Janelle from Flowers by Janie and Joanna Bisley Design on an inspiration shoot for autumn that’s rustic but still sophisticated. It highlighted some imagery that has caught my eye of late.

Not your grandmother’s pearls
While a traditional strand of pearls may not be your style, pearls are emerging in new ways as the perfect bridal accessory. Joanna Bisley Design added mother of pearl blossoms to delicate, gold branches in the “Tara” headpiece. As a chic finishing touch, a collection of dainty pins were tucked into the bride’s updo. Read more about the “Tara” headpiece here.
Barely-there backs
This gown from Lis Simon Bridal has both a plunging v-neckline and a dramatic, barely-there back. The low V in the back is accented by tiny buttons and a chapel train. Yes please! The gown is available at Cameo & Cufflinks in Calgary.
