During a recent wedding consult, the prospective bride asked me “do you have a favourite wedding”? The truth is that every wedding has something that makes it memorable and I could never choose just one wedding. That’s what makes being a wedding photographer so much fun. Now that 2014 has drawn to a close, I thought I’d pick out my Top 5 wedding moments.
First up is Kari & Derek’s first dance to ‘Big Jet Plane’ by Angus and Julia Stone. Their Kelowna wedding took place at Laurel Packinghouse and their first dance was soft and sooo romantic.
Linda and Jerry held a silver wedding anniversary celebration at The Fairmont Palliser. The surprise, dramatic performance by the Suzirya Ukrainian Dance Theatre literally took our breath away.
Who can forget The Pop-up Wedding, held at Kensington Riverside Inn in April. Wedding guests and vendors alike were dabbing their eyes during Carolyn and Ryan’s heartfelt vow renewal.

I haven’t actually published a full blog post on Deb & Mike’s wedding yet, but I wanted to share one image from their day that makes my heart happy.
Okay, are you wondering why the bride is wielding a sword and grinning ear to ear? Here’s a little background information. Using a technique dating back to Napoleon, she had just opened their ceremonial champagne bottle with a saber.
It’s no secret, I’m a sucker for a first look. The first time Pete saw his bride Samantha before their High River Wedding, was no exception.
I’m looking forward to many great moments in 2015 as well. Happy New Year!
