As a Calgary wedding photographer, you could say I’ve attended my fair share of weddings. While the couple is always at the heart of the celebration, I have a soft spot for wedding guests who bring their fashion A-game. Thoughtfully chosen outfits and accessories add so much personality to the day. Of course, I’ll be there with my camera to capture every stylish detail. Read on to see my recommendations for what to wear to a wedding as a guest as categorized by seasons.

Summer Wedding Guest Outfit Ideas

If you have a wedding on your calendar this summer and you’re wondering what to wear, this is for you. Whether you’re attending a formal soirée, a romantic garden ceremony, or a rustic celebration, look no further than Adorn Boutique in Inglewood. 

Look number one is made for a black-tie wedding at an elegant venue like the Fairmont Palliser. Shimmery and sophisticated, it’s the kind of dress that was made for twirling across the dance floor in the Crystal Ballroom. We added a simple locket, a strappy sandal and a sparkling handbag to complete the look.

Look number two, with its soft florals and delicate ruffles, is the perfect choice for a romantic garden ceremony at a venue like The Deane House, our gracious hosts for this shoot. The floral print beautifully echoes the climbing vines that frame the heritage house. If this silhouette isn’t quite your style, it also comes in another version featuring the same beautiful print with an elegant cowl neckline.

The final look complements the relaxed charm of a venue like Heritage Park. The soft plaid print and flutter straps on this dress add a touch of romance while you’re wandering the historic streets or toasting the happy couple aboard the S.S. Moyie.
