A Vintage Affair is a local boutique filled with vintage wedding ideas. I recently teamed up with Bonnie and Theresa from AVA on a photo shoot featuring three gorgeous gowns, perfect for today’s bride with a love of yesterday’s fashions.
If you’re looking for fun and sassy, this 1960s lace short sleeved wedding dress is a perfect candidate! This short style is fitted to hug the body and the sheer organza fly away panels are removable for reception dancing!

From the 1950s, the dress is unique as it has a silver metallic thread running throughout the fabric. The bodice has spaghetti straps and the mid calf length skirt has a slightly full silhouette. We have paired this dress with a modern, but vintage-inspired, wide rhinestone belt which is handmade in Calgary.
This 1960s dress by American designer Emma Domb, and is simple and feminine. The strapped bodice has a pleated detail, a long sash and soft and flowing skirt.
Little piece of trivia…this Emma Domb gown is a true piece of vintage fashion history. Domb created wedding, party, prom and cocktail dresses from her San Francisco headquarters between 1939 and 1970. Thanks to stylist Patricia Fields of Sex and the City fame, Emma Domb’s name came to the forefront once again when Carrie wore one of her vintage blue creations on the show.
