Pomegranates, rich fall colors and a Vespa. These elements had been swirling around in my head for over a year but they finally came together in this Tuscan inspired wedding shoot. I imagined a warm and intimate, courtyard ceremony followed by an alfresco, Italian feast. The look was achieved by adorning a long wooden table with fruit, flowers and herbs. Sarah Mayerson Design added a touch of modern with the floral chandelier she created with dahlias, pepper berries and autumn leaves.
Initially we placed the table inside due to weather, but later had the opportunity to move it outside to the beautiful, walled patio. I couldn’t decide which I liked better. The results were understated, natural, rustic, and yet perfectly elegant. It was a Tuscan inspired wedding right here in Calgary.
Other details include custom bottles of limoncello to be given away as wedding favours. Pieces of perfectly tarnished silver, painted in colors from the wedding palette, graced the table. Pomegranates and dried leaves were used as place markers. What is the ideal way to end an Italian celebration? With a getaway Vespa of course!
