Back in September, I spent the most magical evening in Canmore photographing inspiration for a fall Silvertip wedding. The mastermind behind every detail from the velvet chairs to the flickering candles, was Kari Bedford from Emerson & Co. Thanks to Kari for telling us where her design originated.
First of all, there’s nothing more beautiful than the Rocky Mountains and the colours as summer turns to fall. Our thought was to create the feeling of a warm summer evening and a simple yet sophisticated gathering with friends. Another piece of inspiration was the mustard yellow colour that we don’t get to see at a wedding very often. Paired with lavenders and blues, it turned into the perfect palette for the almost impossibly-full floral arrangements. We also brought these tones in through the vintage chairs, place settings and bridesmaid dresses. The final result was cozy yet stunning decor that would wow any guest.
Silvertip wedding – the inspiration

I wanted to bring back yellow in a rich mustard tone. Although many brides shy away from yellow, it can be very striking. We love it paired with lavender and purple, which are complementary colours on the colour wheel.
As the finishing touch, Oscar from Castaño Media captured the Silvertip wedding magic on film.
