Back in June I had the pleasure of photographing Chelsea and Gary’s Rocky Mountain elopement. On the rocky shores of Barrier Lake in Kananaskis Country they stood with an intimate gathering of family and friends. One thing I won’t forget is the cathedral-like effect of the mountain peaks reflecting in the lake behind them as they exchanged vows. It was simple, it was sweet and yet it was also rather breathtaking.
Rocky Mountain elopement – Unforgettable and Perfect
I could tell you all about their day but instead Chelsea (the bride) has kindly shared a few of her own thoughts:
Our wedding day was unforgettable and perfect. That wasn’t because things didn’t go wrong because they absolutely did. It was perfect because we officially became Husband and Wife. Marrying the person you were meant to be with is an intense experience, especially when that day is seven years in the making. We have no regrets about keeping our nuptials super low-key and simple.
Over the last 10 years, one I’ve learned that every wedding season is a little different. In 2017 I worked with a number of couples who celebrated much like Chelsea and Gary, with a Rocky Mountain elopement. I documented weddings on mountainsides, beaches and alpine meadows. My camera and I can go pretty much anywhere. Please contact the studio if you have any questions about elopement-style packages for your own wedding. I’d love to hear from you!
Finally, here’s a Spray Lakes vow renewal, if you’d like to see.
