Pantone’s Very Peri: A wedding guide

Introducing Pantone’s Very-Peri

Roseanne Murray, La Fleur Edits

Each year Pantone releases their ‘Color of The Year’, and for 2022 they have revealed Very-Peri.  It’s a playful lilac purple and it’s the perfect addition to Spring and Summer weddings.

There are so many ways to creatively incorporate colours into your wedding day, from flowers, bridesmaid dresses, hair accessories, to manicures. We joined forces with local businesses, Adorn Boutique, Sugarcoat, and Flowers by Janie, to showcase the fun and intricate ways to seamlessly incorporate Pantone’s Very-Peri into your various wedding events.  A special thank you to The Nash, one of the best wedding venues in Calgary, for hosting our photoshoot.

Wedding Flowers

You can choose full blooms or accent arrangements with sprigs of colourful flowers. Centrepieces for the rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, or ceremony pieces like bouquets and floral archways are other options to delicately add Very-Peri to your colour palette. We also love the unique option of a wreath arrangement to replace a traditional bouquet! Our model, Marwa, opted for a floral hairpiece to brighten up her look.

Outfits

Whether it’s your engagement session, bridal shower, bachelorette night, or reception dinner, choosing a fun and playful colour is a lovely way to stand out and celebrate in style. We love these dresses from Adorn Boutique.  Soft and romantic silhouettes make these dresses the perfect choice for our Spring and Summer brides.

Wedding Decor

If you’re looking for a more subtle addition of colour, why not add Pantone’s Very-Peri to your table decor with coloured napkins, vases, or name cards. Additionally, you can incorporate the colours into your wedding favours, so guests can take home the romantic and whimsical feel of the day.

Pantone’s Very-Peri Nails & Accessories

Another subtle way to add colour would be bright Spring coloured nails for yourself, and your bridal party. Be sure to select a variety of shades that complement one another. This makes for a cohesive and coordinated, yet individual looks for everyone in your bridal group.  Our model, Heba, found the perfect lilac shade at Sugarcoat Nail Salon in Calgary.

You can also find earrings, necklaces, and hairpieces, boasting a variety of pastel and Spring hues. Adorn Boutique here in Calgary has a plethora of options for brides, bridesmaids, and wedding guests alike. Keeping colours consistent, even with the small details, adds the finishing touch and pulls the whole event together colour-wise.

There are endless ways to add colour to your wedding events but be sure to be strategic and not overwhelm the day. Using all the above tips with the same colours may fall flat, so be sure to find a few shades which complement one another and can be elegantly mixed and matched.

Be open with your various vendors about your colour plans and ideas, and don’t be afraid to ask for advice. They will have endless ideas for how to help bring your vision to life and are experienced in what works, and what doesn’t. Planning your colour palette is such a fun and exciting part of the process.  Be sure to stay true to what you like, and enjoy the process!
