Autumn Wedding Inspo from a Calgary Wedding
Fall weddings are especially magical — rich, sophisticated colours, cozy textures, and storybook photo backdrops make everything feel warm and inviting. I had the pleasure of photographing Delaney & Craig’s autumn wedding at The Nash and was impressed with how they leaned into the season. Their wedding photos are great for autumn wedding inspo if you’re looking to get married in fall. Here are three things that really stood out to me:
- How they incorporated textured florals in jewel-tones
- The autumnal hues chosen for the bridal party’s attire
- Hand-picked Calgary photo locations for that storybook feel

Jewel Toned Florals
The jewel-toned florals by my friend Tavia at Sweet Bloom were just so vibrant and alluring alongside the autumn colours outdoors, and the interior of The Nash. A favourite of mine was the show-stopping fireplace installation. Here’s a personal note from Tavia the florist herself:
“The couple’s vision of fall warmth with deep jewel colours captured the overall sophisticated romance wedding vibe accented with a touch of whimsy that was relaxed and calm. A perfect bloom design suited for an elevated yet inviting wedding at The Nash. Each carefully selected bloom captured the couple’s love of statement, textured blooms as showcased in the stunning miyabi garden rose and further accented with ruffled lisianthus, swirling ranunculus, and dancing scabiosa blooms.” – Tavia, florist.

“I loved mixing all the colours and unique textures to create a floral design that was a reflection of our clients’ personalities and style. The mantle design featured for the ceremony and reception was truly a joy to create with the maintained control at the base and all the whimsical dancing blooms above. The reflection of the blooms in the mirror captured by Tara is my absolute favourite image. Still to date, Delaney and Craig’s wedding bloom design is one of my favourites!” – Tavia, florist.
A Note from The Couple
While the day was filled with much celebration and love, a few memories really stood out to the couple. For Delaney, one of her favourite moments was right after the ceremony. They had just said their “I do’s” in front of all their loved ones. After walking down the aisle, they got to slip away into The Nash’s patio for a little private cocktail, just the two of them. For Craig, it was when they had just gone outside to capture some Golden Hour photos. The local Pedal Pub was going by and the passengers cheered and gave the couple a standing ovation, celebrating their big day.

Autumnal Hues in their Wedding Attire
I loved how the couple wove rich autumn hues into their wedding attire. The groom’s claret-toned tuxedo jacket from Atelier Munro was a striking nod to the autumn landscape and a flawless match for the bride’s red hair. The black halter gown worn by the Maid of Honour was elegant and a compliment to the foliage-inspired palette.

“We always loved the idea of a Fall wedding right from the start of our planning! If you can get the timing just right the colours are so beautiful and make for some truly memorable moments.” – Delaney & Craig
Hand-Picked Photo Locations
If you’re a local Calgarian, you’ve experienced our beautiful autumn colours, but also how short-lived it can be. As a local Calgary-based photographer, there’s just a unique beauty in September and October that makes these weddings so special. I scouted and hand-picked several photo locations that really showcased the beauty of autumn leaves. We started with a first look in Rotary Park, which offers iconic views of Calgary’s downtown and the golden river valley below. The towering trees in the park were ablaze in autumn colour and made the perfect backdrop for bridal party photos. The Deane House in Inglewood kindly gave us permission to take family photos in their gardens too.

“Our Fall wedding dreams came true and Rotary park was filled with the most vibrant yellows, oranges and purples to set the backdrop for our first look, celebratory champagne sabre and wedding party photos.” – Delaney & Craig
No matter the weather in Calgary, I make it a priority to scout locations for photos, both inside and outside, before weddings and events. Even if I’ve shot at a particular spot before, I try to avoid surprises on the wedding day by planning for limo drop-off locations and avoiding construction or scaffolding. It also allows me to “storyboard” in advance and envision the possibilities for each couple. Your wedding day should feel stress-free, and you should have fun taking photos with your sweetheart, whatever the season!

Congratulations to D&C on a beautiful fall celebration!
