While you may be a modern bride, adding a touch of vintage to your bridal look may be just the ticket. Vintage style doesn’t mean outdated. Today I’m sharing some of the vintage wedding hairstyles I’ve photographed. They’re classic, elegant and perfect for a 2015 bride.
Fans of the movie “The Notebook” will remember Ali’s pin curls and 1940’s waves. With this in mind, Krista and Jeremy planned a “day-after” wedding shoot, complete with a magnolia bloom tucked behind her ear. Krista’s hair was styled by Nikki from Artists Within.
Kari and Derek planned their engagement session just as the remake of The Great Gatsby was being released. Jordan from Artists Within styled Kari’s hair in perfect, Daisy Buchanan-style, complete with a crocheted cap from A Vintage Affair.
The term “vintage” encompasses so many eras so this feature by A Vintage Affair included brides with old Hollywood glam, right through to 1970s bohemian. These vintage wedding hairstyles were courtesy of Tara Watts and make-up was by Shea Brown.
For this photo shoot, Lori from Influence Salon used an oversized headpiece from Boutique JuJu to make Ania’s vintage-look playful. Make-up was by Make-up in European Style.
This is pure silver screen drama. Tara Watts styled Nicole’s hair for this photo shoot with A Vintage Affair. Make-up was by Shea Brown.
Here Sasha’s look by Diva Salon Spa is sultry and sophisticated! How about those dark lips? Here is more on this project with the DEMO house and A Vintage Affair.
I loved Krista’s finger waves, crimson lips and overall siren-style for her wedding to James at Contemporary Calgary. These two didn’t take themselves too seriously though as their day was the perfect blend of elegance and fun.
