Maybe it’s because I recently saw Saving Mr. Banks, but when I came across these brocade smoking flats, I immediately thought of a certain Nanny who drops in on Cherry Tree Lane, armed with an umbrella and carpet bag.  I think it’s the “carpet bag” that made the connection for me.  These would be adorable for a rehearsal dinner or when it’s time to kick off your heels.
