As a Calgary wedding photographer, you could say I’ve attended my fair share of weddings. While the couple is always at the heart of the celebration, I have a soft spot for wedding guests who bring their fashion A-game. Thoughtfully chosen outfits and accessories add so much personality to the day. Of course, I’ll be there with my camera to capture every stylish detail. Read on to see my recommendations for what to wear to a wedding as a guest as categorized by seasons.
Wedding Guest Dresses for Fall 2026
If you have a wedding on your calendar this autumn, and you’re wondering what to wear, this post is for you. Many of my brides choose Park & Fifth for their bridesmaids but with a few styling tweaks, these dresses can easily transition from bridesmaid to wedding guest dresses for the fall of 2026.

I visited the Calgary location in Inglewood and the minute I walked in the door I was immediately drawn to look number one (it was the polka dots for me)! Call it Espresso, Mocha or Chocolate, warm brown is the “it” colour for 2026. The “Kingsley dress” is so flattering but also perfectly playful for a wedding guest this fall.

Look number two is the “Lena dress” in dark olive. My favourite details? The softly pleated skirt that flows beautifully as you walk, twirl or dance. For a completely different vibe, our model Taylor threw on a boyfriend blazer and a pair of boots. It’s effortlessly chic, with just the right amount of edge.

Our final look was the “Griffith dress” in Garnet. I loved the beautiful open-back look and of course, the scarf, effortlessly floating around Taylor’s neck. As a photographer, I always appreciate a dress that moves and this one delivers. Taylor carried a beaded back for the perfect dose of texture and interest.

If you’re attending a wedding this fall, be sure to pop into Park & Fifth. The wall of dresses in rich, jewel tones will get you in the mood for fall and for a wedding.

Summer Wedding Guest Outfit Ideas
Take a look back at my recommendations from the summer of 2026 with three fabulous options from Adorn Boutique in Inglewood. Full disclosure: I’m a little biased because the owner, Kari, is one of my beloved former brides. If you stop by, be sure to tell her I said hello!

Look number one was made for a black-tie wedding at an elegant venue like the Fairmont Palliser. Shimmery and sophisticated, it was the kind of dress that was made for twirling across the dance floor in the Crystal Ballroom. We added a simple locket, a strappy sandal and a sparkling handbag to complete the look.

Look number two, with its soft florals and delicate ruffles, was the perfect choice for a romantic garden ceremony at a venue like The Deane House, our gracious hosts for this shoot. The floral print beautifully echoed the climbing vines that frame the heritage house.

The final look complemented the relaxed charm of a venue like Heritage Park. The soft plaid print and flutter straps on this dress added a touch of romance for wandering the historic streets or toasting the happy couple aboard the S.S. Moyie.
