Brides and grooms, I’d love to pause and ask how your wedding planning is going?  I know that many of you are juggling dates, postponements and contracts.  Some of my couples are struggling with financial uncertainty.  The local health authorities are telling us to “think small” in terms of group gatherings.  If you can relate to any of those things, I hope to help you plan an intimate wedding in Calgary.

In recent years, my elopement package has been popular with couples planning destination weddings in the Rockies.  Take Olivia and Aaron for example.  They flew in from the USA to get married at Moraine Lake last September.  My elopement package offered them 3 hours of coverage of their first look, lakeside ceremony and photo time around (and on) the lake.  For a limited time, I’m offering this package with 4 hours of photography (previously 3 hrs).  Even if you’re planning a larger celebration but need to trim your photography budget, 4 hours of coverage could allow me to capture essential moments.  With a well-planned timeline, I could photograph your ceremony, family portraits, bridal party and formals during a four-hour period.  Let me show you what I mean.

Intimate wedding in Calgary at Alforno

Back in December, Kari from Emerson & Co. Weddings planned a cozy yet chic wedding at Alforno in Eau Claire.  Here’s a glimpse at the photography timeline:

While Alforno closed to regular customers and Emerson & Co. transformed the cafe into a magical ceremony space, I met the bride and groom for their first look at Venue 308.  It was a chilly, winter day and Venue 308 was the perfect spot for a first look with south-facing windows and loads of industrial charm.  After the first look, we continued on into couple’s portraits, including some snowy outdoor shots.

Following this, family members arrived for family portraits.  Here’s a few from that evening.

The family shuttled off to Alforno for the ceremony and the couple practiced their first dance routine.  Penny from Venue 308 even played their song (I Love You Always Forever) on the sound system.  I had my camera poised for this since I wouldn’t be present for the dancing later that evening.

The couple tied the knot in a relaxed, candlelit wedding at Alforno.  The guest list included approximately 25 of the couple’s closest and best.

After the ceremony, we ducked outside for a few nighttime shots around the restaurant.  Before I headed off for the night, I was able to capture some shots of the couple mingling with their guests.
