Canmore ticks a lot of boxes for couples planning mountain I Do’s. Sky-high mountains, thick forests, adventure around every corner and uniquely Canadian cuisine. But how does one begin narrowing down Canmore wedding locations? Today I’m pleased to feature Cornerstone Theatre, a venue where I’ve photographed in the past and am delighted to be again in 2018. Thank you to Pamela from Cornerstone for giving us the scoop on planning a Cornerstone wedding.
Tell us about Cornerstone and how it came to be?
Cornerstone Theatre was purposely built in 2002 to host a dinner theatre called the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show. In 2014 we closed the doors to the show and started hosting weddings full time. Our business has grown tremendously over the past few years and we are looking at hosting 180 weddings in 2018. We continue to look at adding new products and services each year to keep up with wedding trends and requests from our couples.
Like several of my couples, Steph and Sean (pictured throughout this post) were married outdoors in the Rockies and celebrated with their friends and family at Cornerstone that evening.

What makes Cornerstone Theatre unique?
There are many items that make us unique as a venue and I believe this is part of the secret to our success. We have a spectacular venue that has a rustic charm that couples fall in love with. Alongside that, we offer a Wedding Coordinator service for all aspects of the day at the theatre and outdoor ceremony. One of the biggest comments we receive is that we offer a set up and tear down services including linens, centrepieces and the little extras. We also offer memorable extras including a photo booth, candy buffet, s’mores station, fairytale lights and more. Our staff genuinely love their job and our customer service goes the extra mile as standard.

Everyone is welcome at Cornerstone Weddings and our ideal couples are ones who love our venue as much as we do.
Tell us about the menu options that are available to couples?
Our menus are Rocky Mountain inspired and are created using local and freshly-sourced ingredients whenever possible. Cornerstone offers plated and buffet dinner menus along with appetizer options and of course the very popular late night snack. Couples enjoy a complimentary food tasting and we are happy to cater to special dietary requirements.
Is there availability for 2018 couples?
There is limited availability for 2018 at Cornerstone Theatre and we are actively taking bookings for 2019 and dates are selling fast.
We are now hosting weddings at our new location, the banquet room of the Canmore Nordic Centre. The Nordic Centre has dates for 2018.
