Tara’s Travels – Whitefish

A while back, we took a little road trip with Whitefish as our destination. I’m no travel writer but I thought it would be fun to post a few photos and recommendations from the trip. This particular trip wasn’t for skiing but we had a great time exploring.

A shot of Flathead Lake. Although it wasn’t beach weather, I managed to snag a sample of sand from the beach for my ever-expanding collection (I collect sand from every beach I travel to).

An iphone shot of a dogsleigh team outside of a cafe. The fellow in the top left corner just cracks me up. _One of these things is not like the other…_

I didn’t leave the wedding photographer in me behind. Who wouldn’t love to shoot at this church?

Turns out the Whitefish area is ‘antique heaven’. Here’s a few of my treasures.

We LOVED Wasabi Sushi Bar. It didn’t look like much at first glance but oh my, it’s a hotspot with great service and fab food. Reservations recommended. The flatbread pizza at Latitude 48 was yummy and we became breakfast regulars at Buffalo Cafe. When we walked in on our first morning, two local gents in worn, cowboy hats sat at the counter eating their breakfast. Gotta love authenticity.

It may not be a local wine, but numerous restaurants featured it on their wine lists. It’s a new favourite.
