Back in August I spent a day with the Rose family, who asked for family photos to honour the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Alex and Mary Lou. The shoot took place in Edmonton so the hunt was on for a great location. We started out in Queen Elizabeth park – one of Mary Lou’s childhood haunts. Our next location was a real jewel as it was Mary Lou’s Grandparent’s home in old Strathcona. It’s now been converted to a law office, but the kind staff allowed us to shoot there and even took Mary Lou for a tour.
One thing you couldn’t help but notice with this family is how much fun they have together and how much they like to “ham it up”. I couldn’t let all of the outtakes go to waste (and there were plenty of them) but I needed the perfect song to go with them. I was looking for something about “ham” or “cheeez” but I settled for “cheezy”. This is dedicated to Mary Lou, who can’t resist a good slide show.
