What inspires you? Do you ever see something and it just fills your head with ideas? That happened for me when I visited Versailles a number of years ago with my Mother. I had been there before but somehow, I saw it with a fresh pair of eyes on that fall day. I loved some of the simple details – especially the hand-carved woodwork. The concept for this shoot began with a photo of a hand-carved door taken that day (still on film at that time). I chewed on the idea for months and envisioned an opulent bride, Marie Antoinette presumably, set against the stark walls of an art gallery, all in hues of white. Back in March, I collaborated with an immensely talented group of wedding professionals, including Sarah Mayerson Design,
to bring our “Marie” to life. I’m thrilled that Weddings in Alberta has featured it on their website and in the September issue of their magazine. Be sure to pick up your copy soon. Thanks WIB!!
I’m a huge fan of inspiration boards. This was our jumping off point, including the photo that started it all (top left). I love how each and every person interpreted the inspiration board in their own way, making the final photos even better than I imagined.
