It was such an honour to be Katherine & Tyler’s Heritage Park Wedding Photographer. In a nutshell, their ceremony took place in front of the historic Prince House and their guests enjoyed Heritage Park‘s vintage carnival rides. Their wedding was filled with fun, laughter, pretty DIY projects and lots of LOVE.
A note from the bride:
Every week my family gets together for a lively event filled Sunday dinner with hilarious stories and a clearly genuine enjoyment of simply being together. That is what we wanted for our wedding: a relaxed, fun-filled event with family and friends – a day that was intimate, reflective of us as couple, and above all, fun. Taking our design inspiration from a party scene from Midnight in Paris set amongst vintage carnival rides and twinkling lights, we found the perfect venue with Heritage Park. The natural surroundings of the ceremony site, the colour and charm of antique midway, and the architectural details and character of the Wainwright Hotel meant that we could be light handed with the décor and add small personal touches of colour and a bit of sparkle only where necessary. We exchanged vows in a brief lighthearted ceremony on the lawn of the historic Prince House before heading over to the antique midway for a few hours of celebratory fun and pictures. Ice cream floats and popcorn were served while everyone enjoyed rides and games from the turn of the century (including a 1904 carousel). Reception and dance followed at the park’s historic Wainwright Hotel. Every detail was personal and handmade with the help of friends and family, including the witty limerick that Tyler wrote for the registry page on our website, the beautiful invitations handmade by Tyler’s mother, and 175 paper rosettes (each with a unique vintage brooch or earing at its centre) decorating the chairs and the front of the head table. The entire day was filled with memorable moments, but it was Tyler’s surprise after dinner speech, humorously but lovingly recounting our entire relationship in a three page limerick that really took the cake.
