It’s nice to change things up every once in a while and photograph something other than weddings or portraits. When Kari Bolen of Modern Girls in Vintage Pearls called about a fashion project, I jumped at the chance. This time Kari styled a quirky, bold and feminine outfit, perfect for a Calgary gal who doesn’t shy away from a pop of colour (or kisses). What I love about the pieces Kari selected is that she perfectly blended bargain treasures with high-end brands. To me, this project had a real ‘Kate Spade’ feel to it (and a blue, Kate Spade bag for that matter).
Here’s what Kari had to say about the shoot…
It’s almost Springtime (!!!) which means that we are all busy cleaning out our closets – switching up those wool scarves for lighter ones and our winter jackets for sweaters. It also means that we can start to add those bright pops of colour that I’ve been missing all winter long! No more greys, whites, blacks and blues, from now on it’s bright pinks, pastels and fun patterns for me.
Pop over to Kari’s blog post and get her take on it. Check out some of the other fashion projects that Kari and I have worked on together.
