I suspect that there’s a lot of newly engaged couples out there after the recent Valentine’s weekend.  If that’s you then big congratulations!  This post is just for you.  One of my wedding couples this year, Samantha & Pete, have agreed to a behind-the-scenes look at their wedding planning process.  First they selected the perfect wedding photography package for them.  Today I’m going to tell you about our meeting to discuss their engagement photo ideas.

Because Samantha and Pete are having a summer wedding, they’ve decided to do their engagement session in the winter, for a completely different look.  The starting point for all of our engagement photo ideas was a vintage, Hudson Bay Scarlet Point blanket.  What a great way to add a pop of colour against a snowy backdrop.

There’s one thing you should know about Samantha.  She’s a modern girl with a vintage heart.  I had instructed her to bring along some potential outfits  and I had no doubt that she would pull several vintage treasures out of her bag of tricks.  She did not disappoint.  Here she is showing off her vintage cape and boots.

To help with the planning process, I started a Pinterest inspiration board for their shoot.   I was able to show them some of my ideas for locales and props and they could see them on the screen, combined with Samantha’s wardrobe suggestions.  I can’t wait to bring their vision to life.
