It was such a delight to be Katie and Chris’ Spruce Meadows wedding photographer. Not only were they crazy in love, they were surrounded by people who adored them. Combine this with the Wedding Planning & Design Services of Mary Swaffield of LAVISH/OneWest Weddings, and it was an unforgettable day.
Looking back, the bride remembered, ‘It was wonderful to hear our family and friends tell us how blown away they were, and even more to watch everyone truly enjoying themselves. From the food to the décor, the entertainment and sparkly details, Mary and her team made our wedding day more than we could have ever hoped or dreamed!”

While it wasn’t supposed to be a winter wedding, Katie and Chris made the best of it when a snow storm rolled in that fall day.

Katie and Chris met at the annual Red Eye Ball Tournament in Drumheller. This beauty the matchmaker. I’m so excited to be working with her again soon.
A favourite of the Bride – caught the ladies checking their lipstick!
This was the view when you entered the reception room. Well done Mary, of LAVISH/OneWest Weddings
The flowers were truly a highlight at this wedding. Kudos to John Freriksen from La Fleur Floral Boutique. In Katie’s own words: “The florals at our reception were all different. We had a HUGE bouquet when you first walked in with the seating arrangements all around it. On each table, was a different arrangement. Tall, short and long, tall and short together – just stunning! John had flowers everywhere. On the littlest table, was a vase with one beautiful flower in it. I was just blown away.”
A tender moment during speeches

This moment was one of the highlights of the 2012 season for me. Chris and Katie began their first dance to Keith Urban’s “Your Everything”. Their 18 month old daughter, Ella, heard the music from the Kid’s Room next door. She recognized the song because her parents had been practicing their first dance at home, and made her way to the dance floor. The three of them danced and exchanged kisses as a family. Can you say goosebumps?
The Dino Martinis had the dance floor hopping all night.
Katie and Chris have some fantastic friends, including adorable kiddos, with moves!!
The crazy, awesome dessert table was a labour of love between LAVISH/OneWest Weddings & Great Events Catering. It was deliciously purple!
