Have you ever been to Paris and wandered the aisles of Les Puces, the ultimate flea market? I was completely taken by the beautiful collections of simple things – old fashion magazines, postcards, stamps and especially buttons. We decided to apply the collection concept to a bridal shower, using notions, all in shades of blue…button invitations, spools of thread to hold the name cards, apothecary jars filled with buttons as centrepieces and button ginger snaps as favours.
Cassis Bistro served as the perfect venue with it’s blend of the old and modern worlds. Guests were encouraged to bring a favourite recipe, to add to the couple’s repertoire. We took our cue from the bistro staff, who send each customer home with their infamous ratatouille recipe.
Bunches of flowers were gathered in mismatched containers, like one would see for sale on a sidewalk in Paris. Wouldn’t it be fun to send each guest home with a few stems wrapped in newspaper. If you’re planning a shower for a friend, I hope you find some pretty ideas here.
Many thanks to everyone who helped make this shower possible:
